A new name, a bigger mission

Things have been falling neatly into place for Charles Rodriquez in the past 18 months — he started working on a bachelor's degree in information science at the University of South Carolina and completed an internship last fall that paved the way for a new job after graduation. Read more »

Alumni Notes
Drew Brooks (B.A., 2007) has joined National Guard Association of the United States as a senior writer/editor. Brooks previously worked as a reporter with the Fayetteville Observer in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Marti Brown (MLIS, 2011, Certificate, 2012) was awarded a Sparkleberry Fair grant in November for her library program. In December, she received her National Board Certification in Library Media. Brown works as a library media specialist at Westwood High School in Blythewood. Linda (Dietrich) Waskow (MLIS, 2010) has been nominated for South Carolina Association of School Librarians (SCASL) president for 2019-2020. Waskow works as a media technology specialist for Beaufort Elementary School in Beaufort. Jason Rapp (B.A., 2002) has been named program director for South Carolina Cultural Districts. Rapp works as communications director for the South Carolina Arts Commission. Carolina (Callahan) Round (B.A., 2008) has been named a 2018 Young Leader in Louisville, Kentucky. She is the only member of Louisville's media industry to earn the distinction. She has also taken over as weekend evening anchor and managing editor at the city's CBS affiliate. She and her husband welcomed a baby girl in 2017.
