Faculty and students recognized by national association
The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication has recognized nine SJMC faculty and graduate students with top awards and accepted 27 papers for presentation.
Alumnus is the new president of the Alumni Association's Board of Governors
Robin Roberts, '76, a recipient of the SJMC's Distinguished Alumnus award and founding member of the CIC's Dean's Leadership Council, will serve a two-year term and preside over the 19-member board.

Tori Richman, BA, 2019, has been hired as a photographer by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She is one of just five full-time, female photographers in the NFL.
Sarah Pritchard, BA, 2020, has joined WVLT in Knoxville, Tennessee, as a news producer.
William Rioux, BA, 2020, has joined WRDW in North Augusta as a producer/multimedia journalist.
Jade Unser, BA, 2013, has been named account supervisor at Mode in Charlotte. Unser directs the company's largest account, Boar's Head, and has led the agency to two gold ADDYs and a Best of Show for her work.
Charlotte Raiford, BA, 2020, has been accepted to Southern Methodist University's Master of Science in Management and MBA program at the Cox School of Business.
Lee Goble, MMC, 2019, has been named to the Columbia Opportunity Resource Board of Directors. He is also a member of Public Relations Society of America South Carolina Chapter. Goble works as a communications associate for Central Carolina Community Foundation.
Sam McCuen, BA, 1963, has received Columbia Museum of Art's John Richard Craft Leadership Award.
