LENTEN BLESSINGS FROM ARISE!

Blessings to you in this Season of Lent.

Lent is a time for reflecting on the journey. A time where we think about journeys in and through the wilderness and the lessons we find there. ARISE Ministry meets people in the wilderness - in dangers, darkness, and uncertainty of life. Though the wilderness can be a time of uncertainty it is also a time when God's creative and awesome presence is made known, bread comes from heaven, water springs from rocks, and hope lives.

ARISE journeys with our participants through the wildernesses of trauma, addiction, anger and anxiety. God is present with us on this journey, meeting us in powerful and creative ways. It is a journey of hope, healing, and wholeness.

In these days of journeying through Lent, through the wilderness, and to the cross we pray:
"Take us on our journey
from where we are to what you want us to be;
so that we become a community
where all are welcomed and no one is excluded,
all are valued and no one is made to feel inadequate,
all are forgiven and no one is ashamed to belong,
all are encouraged and no one is too hurt to come among us."

(From "Lead us on our journey," by Ruth Harvey)

Grace and Peace in this Lenten journey,

Rev. Deb Rapport
