This series starts Wednesday February 3rd at 10am.

As the name of this OLLI series suggests, Medical Ethics 101 has been designed to provide members with a broad introduction to this specialized field for a panel of expert UM faculty members. Although we are all bombarded on a daily basis with questions and decisions related to the pandemic, other issues continue related to family illnesses or aging relatives.

Rest assured that the "dialogue" format being used allows for extended interaction with the faculty. Each will divide their presentations into two 30-minute segments, each followed by a 30-minute Q and A session. OLLI members should also be aware that the UM medical ethics unit will accept questions at no charge from the community.

Medical Ethics 101 is a three- lecture series, as the name implies, covering the fundamentals of the field. This information is vital for normal times but
is particularly valuable at a time such as the current with the COVID19 pandemic in full force. All of our three faculty members are members of the faculty of the University of Michigan Medical School and two of them are physicians with active medical practices as well as duties as medical ethics consultants. The third, Ed Goldman, is an attorney whose whole career has been engagement in healthcare legal affairs.

Cost: $10/lecture, $25/series
