Virtual Tour of the Michigan and State Theaters

OLLI’s online Commons hosts a fun and inspiring virtual tour of the Michigan and State Theaters, followed by a live Q&A session with Russ Collins, the Executive Director and CEO of the Michigan Theater Foundation in Ann Arbor, MI.

During the virtual tour, Russ highlights the history of the 1928 Michigan theater movie palace and the varied music and sounds that its recently refurbished Barton Organ can create  He also shares the considerations when recently renovating the 1942 art deco masterpiece State Theater.  The tour was produced by a local production company, allowing the true beauty of the theaters to shine through!
