Virtual Reality Architectural Tours land in the South West.

As an innovative architectural practice we strive to be at the forefront of pioneering design techniques. We are proud to be able to offer our clients a fully immersive experience, allowing them to walk around their 3D building through the use of the HTC Vive virtual reality technology. This is something we could never of dreamed of when we started out in business 44 years ago!

We recently collaborated with the award winning team at Triangular Pixels in order to produce a Virtual Reality tour to take to the Chartered Institute of Housing conference earlier this year.

Today’s VR technology allows us to show our clients very early on in the process how their designs translate into the real world. Our managing director, James Trewin, sees the potential to save both the industry and our clients time and money.

At Trewin Design Architects we have our in-house virtual reality tour ready to help others visualise and ultimately realise their dream project.

As featured in Grand Designs - our North Devon House project.

"Open plan works best when the functions of the room are clearly delineated as in this barn conversion by Trewin Design Architects"
It was wonderful to see one of our projects featured within the Grand Design Magazine earlier this year, read more about the renovation of this stunning property here

A win for small builders

The Court of Appeal backs government plans to exempt small sites from affordable homes obligations. The government won a legal challenge against a High Court ruling that quashed a national planning policy intended to exempt small sites from affordable housing obligations back in May this year.
Sites with up to ten dwellings in urban areas are now exempt from affordable housing and up to five dwellings in rural areas.

North Devon Students Win RIBA Prize.

Libby Purl and Oscar Allen, who both currently attend Holsworthy Community College have been awarded 1st and 2nd prize within the RIBA South West Work Experience Competition recently for their outstanding design work. The brief was to design an observation station for lifeguard operations in which they were able to choose the location of the project utilising any beach or lakeside in Cornwall or Devon.

Both Libby and Oscar were to work on their design submission for a week alongside their two mentors at Trewin Design, Lydia Rowe and Anthony Vickery during July of this year. The competition was organised by the RIBA Cornwall branch involving several architectural practices throughout the region and judging took place in September.

The results were announced recently and we are thrilled for Libby and Oscar.
