Thank You for Joining Us in a
Toast to the Trailblazers!

Thank you to all who joined us at our 20th Anniversary Gala on April 5—and for making the evening so special! It was a privilege to celebrate with Secretary John Kerry, Nàdely Nuñez Díaz (the first ever Thomas M. Leonard Scholarship recipient), and all of the Trailblazers! Read on to learn which Trailblazers were celebrated with a toast for their exemplary work!

Captains and Currency!

Partnership Grant Spotlight
The Museum of Old Newbury is utilizing an Essex Heritage Partnership grant to develop a new exhibition, "Captains and Currency: A Chronicle of the Perkins and Brown Families of Newburyport," which will tell the story of Newburyport as a microcosm of American history as seen through the lens of its maritime enterprises and entrepreneurial spirit. Based on a collection of materials recently donated to the museum, the exhibition will examine the ways two very different families bolstered the city during its economic prime. While one family produced several illustrious shipmasters, the other developed revolutionary printing and engraving technology.
