WWJD: Finding Purpose and Clarity in Chaos

Jim Kwik, YouTuber and Thought Leader, stated that today's humans receive more information in a matter of months than humans in the 1300s received in their lifetimes. I find that fact to be very interesting.

With all of the information we have, it is a wonder that we still have not mastered loving people well and loving ourselves as God's creation.

How are you finding purpose and clarity in the chaos? Just when we thought there was a glimmer of accountability with the Chauvin verdict, we hear of Ma'Khia Bryant, Zadok Williams, and others whose names I do not know but stories I've heard. What is evident is that we cannot get a break. We have to take one.

The break will awaken us to what is clear in the dimness. The sacred pause will enlighten us to the wisdom in the silence.

Jesus said, in the Book of Thomas 3:3,4, "When you come to know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will realize that you are the children of the Living Father. If, however, you do not come to know yourselves, then you will dwell in poverty and you are the poverty."

I want that word to sink in because it does not need any commentary. It only requires our attention and application.

We - myself included - are conditioned to seek the external as foundational to our engagement in the world rather than engage with the external as reflections of what is within us. Holy Spirit, help us!

Here are 3 tips for finding purpose and clarity in the chaos.
  1. Get to know yourself. Stop avoiding you-time with God. God will show who you who you are through His kindness and attentiveness towards you.
  2. Prioritize knowing yourself as God's child over being an adult in the world. Speaking and engaging with yourself as God's child slows you down for the essential and fills you up for the extraordinary.
  3. Know that you are richness. The capitalistic and imperialistic society we inhabit tries to convince us that technological advances are more special than people. This is completely false. We come to earth with medicine and natural wisdom - God-endowed wisdom - that need only to be brought forth. Fear not knowing yourself and becoming the poverty Jesus speaks of. The same humans who want to convince you of your poverty and sickness are the same ones who want you to rely on them to be well.
