A Great Summer to Celebrate

We have a lot to be grateful for as we enter the summer season.
While many libraries were closed during Covid for extended periods with limited or no services, we were able to restructure our spaces and services to serve you throughout the pandemic.  And now, we are open more hours than ever before.
Our facility is receiving the maintenance it needs, and we just completed a significant masonry restoration project.  What a beautiful building!
We stayed healthy!  Most of our staff members are vaccinated, and to my knowledge, the library was not a vector of transmission in the community.  (Maybe I can sleep again...).
We lost count after 1,500 masks, but thanks to our volunteers, Mildred's Masks at the library served hundreds of residents of all ages in the last year and helped to keep Jaffrey safe.  And they haven't stopped so feel free to restock/refresh.
As we move forward with the return of in-person programming for the summer months, we want to thank you, our Library Trustees, and our Town Manager for the support and care you have all given to the library team.  Thank you!

Be well.  Be safe.  Be kind.
Please feel free to contact me any time at jperrin@jaffreypubliclibrary.org.
Kind regards, Julie M. Perrin, Library Director - a.k.a. Ms. Julie

Summer Learning Registration starts Monday, June 14

Fun and Learning for Ages 0 - 108.  Whether you want to be at home or in the library for your summer activities, we have you covered!
Join us for Tails & Tales: June 14  - August 6

Summer Learning returns next week, with a full line-up and return of the ever popular BINGO challenges for all ages.  We have designed this year's program to be friendly for an uncertain future so no matter what the pandemic brings (or doesn't bring, we hope), the learning fun will not stop.  Please register in-person, any time, starting June 14.

Along with Library BINGO challenges for each age group, we have added a new Family Reads program (with free books for all children), inspired by the success of our Mischief Makers Book Club, which encouraged families to read together, long after book club ended.  (Special thanks to the Jaffrey Knights of Columbus for sponsoring the original program.)  Details are in your Summer Learning packets.

Please be sure to check our Event Calendar for new information and program updates throughout the season.

At the time of this newsletter, masks are still required for ages 2 and up for all INDOOR programs and inside the library building.  Masks are encouraged, but not required, for many of our OUTDOOR programs.  Please note that if program presenters require masks, even outdoors, we will respect their wishes.

The Summer Lineup

Here are some highlights to add to your summer calendar.  Please be advised that many of these programs do require registration.
