Penarth Sounds On Air - Seiniau Penarth Ar Yr Awyr
Ade, calmly putting together a radio show

It's been almost exactly two months since we cancelled all our gigs, turned out the lights and locked all the doors. But things are happening here at Penarth Acoustic Labs!

A little over a month ago news reached us that a community radio station was being set up in Penarth. Well now it's here! Penarth Sounds/Seiniau Penarth went live on air at 5pm this evening. It's currently Internet only, so you have to go to penarthsounds.co.uk and click on the "Play" icon to listen to the show currently being broadcast, or go to the "listen again" page to catch up with programmes you may have missed. It's not full time yet, so check the schedules on the website, but we're currently broadcasting  on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm onwards, and Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Friday evenings at 7pm will be Penarth Acoustic Club's slot, and Phil and I have been beavering away putting programmes together. The first one goes out this Friday, 22nd May, so please spread the word, tune in and enjoy something like what you've been missing for the last couple of months! And don't forget to let us know via the station's feedback page what you think.

If any of you would like to get involved in the station, have ideas for programmes you'd like to hear or like to produce, then please also get in touch via the website, or of course the usual social media channels. Searching for "Penarth Sounds" should turn up what you need.

We may still be locked down here at Penarth Acoustic Club HQ, but all is not quiet - turn the radio on!

Another item which may be of interest to you all. At our last gig in February, we were  entertained by Joshua Burnell & Francis Sladen, as well as Sarah Jane Scouten and poet Heidi Beck.

Josh has spent a huge amount of time over the last year getting his new album ready, and was relying on touring/merch sales etc to complete the funding for its release. Obviously the current pandemic has knocked all that on the head, so he's started a kickstarter project to help get him over the line. He explains it all in a video on the project page here. He's nearly reached his goal, so if you feel like chipping in (and getting a copy of the album, or other rewards) then please help out!

There'll be a world premiere of one of the tracks from his new album on the Acoustic Club show on Seiniau Penarth Sounds - tune in to listen!
