Hanging with our friends, Nick and Kathryn, in Brisbane, Australia has been a real treat. We spent time with Nick's family over the weekend which meant that we had a couple of delicious cookouts, watched a bunch of rugby, and shared many laughs over drinks. This week, we have had the chance to take in the sun and walk around the city. It's no wonder that Brisbane is #35 on the 2019 Global Quality of Living Rankings that came out this week.
This weekend I will be paying attention to the March Madness updates while we take in live Rugby and likely enjoy more cookouts (the lamb here is unbelievable!). On Monday, we head to Sidney for a week which will wrap up our time in Australia.
► In this week's podcast episode we discuss our time in Tasmania.
Tasmania is a gorgeous island state of Australia off the southern coast of the mainland. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the beauty of the wilderness, the peaceful town with plenty to do, and fun day tours to visit exotic animals. We loved walking around Hobart to visit boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and galleries. You can find plenty of shops in Salamanca Place, Battery Point, and all of the quaint neighborhoods of Hobart.
Tasmania has a large port area with huge yachts, quiet beaches, and the Mona (Museum of Old and New Art) just a short private ferry away. Drinking a cold beer at the Cascade Brewery was a deliciously good choice. Our day trip out to Mt. Field National Park, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, and Mt. Wellington was our highlight as we had a chance to experience the wilderness and interact with kangaroos, wombats, and the iconic Tasmanian devil.
You will see an announcement from me on Monday regarding a photo book Kickstarter project that I am hoping to release with a successful 30-day campaign.
Best of luck with your brackets!
