Now in Kyoto, Japan, we were really fortunate with the timing of our travels around this beautiful country. Typhoon Jebi was much worse than the impact we felt. You can see the dramatic photos that show the devastation left behind. This isn't far from where we have been in our last week. Very sad for these people. Jebi was the strongest tropical cyclone to hit the country in 25 years, with winds over 129 miles per hour.
The major earthquake that hit Japan earlier today was in the far north and nowhere near us.
Nikki and I have been enjoying the time walking the streets (when it’s not raining) and checking out the sites. Kyoto has a fantastic market, more temples, and plenty of excellent food opportunities that I will let you in on.
In this week’s podcast episode, we talk all about our first half of the travels in Japan.
Our first three weeks have been unforgettable. Tokyo (Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi), Kobe, Osaka, Koyasan, Nara. There are so many positive things that we will share in this podcast episode. Railway system, umbrellas, 7-Eleven’s, vending machines, baseball games, Temples, and incredibly kind people.
We love our time here. Halfway through our time in this gorgeous country and we have so much to share. Tune in to find all that we are enjoying, experiencing, and observing as we explore one of the unique cultures in the world.
