We spent the day at the Grand Sumo Tournament in Tokyo. Not an easy ticket to get so we were fortunate with the timing of the event as we wrap up our time in Japan. Sumo wrestling events are less common than you would imagine with these tournaments only happening 6 times a year. It was great to see these massive dudes throw their weight around. The spectacle of the entire day was fascinating.
Almost as wild as that, as we took our seats, I struck up a conversation with the guy next to me who happened to be from America. After we spoke for a while, we found out that he and his wife work at the same hospital as a close friend of ours in Texas, and they know her well. The world is tiny sometimes.
Wrapping up our time along the countryside was a bit sad as the family that hosted us was extra special with their thoughtful treatment and unforgettable breakfasts. It rained almost our entire time there, but I still had a couple of hours each day to walk around the beautiful lake. With all that time inside, I worked my tail off on a new project that is set to release tomorrow. Watch for that email…I’m pretty damn excited.
I’m also excited to see my buddy Chris who is making his way to visit us in Thailand with his wife. It will be awesome to catch up with old friends. Speaking of friendship, an incredibly thoughtful buddy of mine, Bryan, sent me a bottle of Four Roses to Japan last week. Very considerate for my need of tasty bourbon.
In this week’s podcast episode we reflect on the beauty that was the Iguazu Falls journey. We also talk about Rio and Buenos Aires.
Rio de Janeiro is one of the most spectacular cities in the world. Buenos Aires is one of the most romantic. And, the Iguazu Falls will have you in awe of the beauty, magnificence, and endless natural splendor. It has been unmatched in our travels around the world. 2.5 times the size of the Niagara falls, its the world’s largest waterfalls system, and rightly named to the New 7 Wonders of Nature List and should be on everyone’s bucket list.
This two-week trip was memorable for many reasons. We break down what you should consider while making your way to this remarkable part of the world.
Wrapping up our time in Tokyo at a fantastic digital museum tomorrow and then it is off to Thailand.
