We definitely may have saved the best for last. New Zealand is mind-blowing. Our hike today rewarded us with a beautiful look over the city. We are currently in Queenstown enjoying one of our favorite newly-found towns on our trip. It has a great mix of gorgeous views, adventure opportunities, and fun nightlife. Here is a short video of a plane flying into the city to give you a taste.
► Last week we were in Rotorua, and we talk about our time there in today's podcast, which was recently named to the World's Most Beautiful Places list. Nikki and I have been to a few of those spots but, man, there are so many on that list that I want to go explore. Here is our photo at Rotorua Lake. Also, I have been going nuts on my Instagram Stories with tons of pictures. If you aren't sure what that is, just click on my profile photo on Instagram or go here and watch the beauty of the landscape of New Zealand stream across.
► Rotorua is also home to NBA star Steven Adams. It's hard to believe that a country with less than 5 million people turns out so many talented athletes. Speaking of the NBA, with the Playoffs in full swing, if you like reading about the NBA culture, wine, good food, or big tips, you might like this article on how the Spurs built a dynasty with secret team dinners.
► With less than 48 hours left on the Kickstarter campaign for the photo book, POLICE: Brotherhood in Uniform Around the World, it doesn't look like it is going to be funded this way. That said, I will complete the book in time. I have received so much love and support from the law enforcement community that I must get it completed. I did a poor job in understanding how to market correctly with the Kickstarter platform. That said, with the people that I spoke to, I am confident the book will be well-received once complete. Stay tuned. And for all of those that supported financially (you'll get that pledge back) or through sharing the information, I greatly appreciated it.
► In this week's podcast episode we talk about our time on New Zealand’s North Island.
Road tripping through the North Island of New Zealand was more fun than we could have imagined. Taking in all of the beauty with the endless hills, wildlife on the farms, and scenic landscapes was a treat as we stopped for photos several times. Auckland offers a ton of great restaurants and nightlife for the city lovers while the rest of the trip was mostly town-sized communities surrounded by nature with jaw-dropping beauty.
We visited Rotorua, Lake Taupo, and Wellington as we headed south with a few stops along the way. No matter how you decide to discover the North Island, you will have a blast driving in the gorgeous landscapes of New Zealand where every angle is a screen saver. Listen to the episode of Passport Joy Travel Talk as we give a few tips on how we made our road trip memorable.
This time next week, we will be heading home. Hard to imagine.
