I'll Take Another, Please

What an awesome week!

The Typhoon didn’t cause much damage near our location. Thanks again for all of the notes wishing us well.

We had a great time taking in Kobe and Osaka while learning more about the culture. On Friday night, I used Meetup.com to connect with eight local business people to discuss ideas and projects that we are working to build individually. It was a robust process of reviewing our goals as a group, and it gave me insight into Japanese businesses. They were all very kind to have the talks in English.

Hope you saw the video I posted on Facebook and Instagram of the guy bending over backward to take Nikki’s photo. If not, you have to check it out. It is hilarious!

On Saturday night, I ended up going to a bar to grab a drink (Nikki headed home) and, WOW, did I have a blast with a bunch of locals. Can’t say I have ever had that much fun with a group of people that I had could not speak with (all Google Translate). Sake, Japanese whiskey, and local beer. Too much! What a blast and experience I will not forget (at least the parts I can remember).

The baseball game was out of this world. I have never witnessed such dedication by the fan base. Both teams are out of the hunt of the Championship, but the fans acted as if it were the World Series. Please check out this video between innings where they all blew up balloons then let them off at the same time. You can hear my shock if you play with volume.

In this week’s podcast episode we talk about Chile - Santiago, Valparaiso, San Pedro de Atacama (& Other Beauty).

Chile has many destinations that you will want to add to your travel list. Santiago as a mega city but beautiful location, Vina del Mar, and Valparaiso as coastal paradises, Antofagasta as a growing hotbed on the coast, and San Pedro de Atacama for being one of the gorgeous locations on the planet.

We loved our time in Chile as we started off on this journey around the world. We still have many friends from our time in this beautiful country as well as fond memories of climbing steep mountains, walking along gorgeous coastlines, and dancing the night away in the bars. We will be back again someday to take it all in again.

We are currently in the mountains east of Osaka where it is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and full of enormous trees. Tell you about it soon.

Safe Travels.

Matt
