Remember that line in Forrest Gump when he was describing his time in Vietnam and said: "One day it started raining..."? Well, we are living it right now. Times like this remind me of how chess prodigy Josh Waitzkin taught his young son to love the rain and how they would go outside to dance in it. Focus on the things you CAN control.
► The Vietnam Men's Football (Soccer) team is in the finals of the AFF Cup versus Malaysia which is the Southeast Asia Cup. The final game will be on Saturday, and the whole country is buzzing with excitement. The championship is held in Hanoi where we will be, so I am sure it will be an EPIC experience.
► We had a great time in Da Nang hanging out with a few new and 'old' friends (the internet wins again) getting the chance to have some very authentic experiences. Quy Nhon has been the same level of kindness from the locals as everyone wants to make sure we feel welcome.
► The Bali, Indonesia Episode of World Barber Shop Adventures is live. Have you ever had your nose or ears waxed? If not, good for you. I had both done in this episode, and it isn't fun.
► Do you like those fun Q&A sessions where the host asks random questions like 'who would you want to be stuck in an elevator with?'. If yes, check out my interview on Funky Thinkers that aired this week. I also was a guest on Art of Adventure where we discuss our journey and get into details about my love for barber shops. All of my interviews that I have guested on podcasts can be found here.
► In this week’s podcast episode, we talk about Phu Quoc (Fantasy Island of Vietnam). Producing it was fun because we had to record it from the airport based on our travel schedule.
Phu Quoc, Vietnam is an island south of Cambodia and Vietnam. We had the chance to spend seven fun days there in the heart of the action and on a resort that will be a hot spot for the casino lovers. Both locations provided beautiful beach lines, amazing eats, and different entertainment options.
In this episode, we will discuss why we decided to visit this island in Vietnam and why we hope to go back someday. We talk about getting lost on the scooter that ended up viewing a gorgeous sunset, walking through the night market, and strolling along the endless sandy beaches. If you enjoy fun in the sun, this location is for you.
Hard to believe the end of the year is approaching. Have fun at all of those holiday parties.
And, if you get a chance to tune in on Saturday morning for the AFF Cup (7:30 AM EST), GO VIETNAM!
