Service Road Construction at the GBG
Thanks to a generous donation from the Rasmusson Foundation, the GBG will be installing a service road to increase safety of garden visitors! We will soon have a separate path that is for service vehicles, so pedestrians and service vehicles are not sharing the same space. We anticipate construction to take place in June and the Garden will remain open during this time.

The Hassebroek Promenade is getting some accents!
Thanks to a generous donation from Lotto Alaska, the Hassebroek Promenade at the GBG is getting custom designed benches at each of the nodes along the promenade and an entrance arch at the beginning of the promenade. These are all designed and fabricated by local Fairbanks artist and craftsman Thomas Hart with some detail work done by Nancy Hausle-Johnson. The benches are already fabricated and waiting to be installed this summer. Oh my gosh, you are going to love them! The arch is in fabrication phase and we are so excited for the final product. Stay tuned about the progress of this project on our Facebook page.

The Harvest Project Collaborative is getting a new home
The GBG, UAF Office of Sustainability Nanook Grown, and Vegetable Variety trials are again joining forces for the 4th consecutive year to teach UAF students to grow food and give back to our community. The program donates thousands of pounds of produce to the local food bank and builds new food growers and community. The new gardening area is in one of the former reindeer pens and will be dedicated to the HPC program.
