Dear Patrick Henry PTA Members,

I hope you enjoyed the long weekend! There are many exciting activities coming up... 
  • It's Principal Appreciation Week! Join us in thanking our awesome principals, Mrs. Turner and Ms. Snyder, for all they do for our children! There will be a large card in the lobby for all students to sign -- and look below for more ways to thank them.
  • We have your Friday night dinner and activity planned for you -- bring your family to Patrick Henry for a fun night of BINGO! See below for more information.  
  • We are planning a parent workshop series, based on your feedback, including a session on Children and Anxiety on February 15 with Dr. Barbara Howard, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician and a session on the Virginia529 College Savings Plan with a Virginia529 representative on March 10 during our PTA meeting. Thank you to Laura Olson for all her work to develop these and other educational programs for our community. 
  • Thank you to Christine Brittle and to everyone who came out to one of the homework sessions! If you couldn't attend, please email Christine Brittle at with your feedback about homework. All information will be treated as confidential, and summaries will be prepared for Mrs. Turner and Ms. Snyder to help provide the parent perspective on homework. 
  • Thank you to Ellen Moreno and Kelly Mitzen for taking over the oversight and coordination of the School Store and to all the families who volunteer to work in the school store. Thanks to you, the school store is open every day to offer all the wonderful school supplies our children could need and want!

Bring your whole family and friends to get in on the action.
Families can compete in our BINGO games or take part in the Raffle for fun, kid-friendly prizes like bikes, the 2016 American Girl Doll, Legos and cash! And, pizza will be available for sale so you don't have to worry about dinner!
Stop by our table in the school lobby Tuesday-Friday to buy advanced tickets for the Raffle.
All proceeds support the 4th grade trip to Williamsburg.

SAVE THE DATE for an evening of bidding on fantastic items, while your kids watch a movie supervised by their teachers! It’s the largest fundraiser of the year for the PTA, as well as a fun Patrick Henry tradition.

Interested in donating to the auction? Here are some simple, popular ideas: 
  • Do you own a vacation home or cabin? Donate a week or weekend!
  • Do you own a small business or work for a business that may donate? Give a gift certificate!
  • Are you a great chef? Donate a home-cooked dinner or baked goods!
  • Do you have a special talent (e.g., tutoring, home improvement, landscaping)? Donate a few hours of your services!
  • Are you social? Do you like to host parties? Some of the most popular items are family parties.  Host a movie in your backyard for 4 families. Or, bourbon and brats by the firepit for a few families.
  • Do you have season tickets to the theater, sports, music hall? Donate a few tickets to an upcoming event.
