I think Bowspirit's Balmorhea just unseated every Olafur Arnalds track I was drawn to.
It was like I was listening to all those deep, heart wrenching speeches in one go. But not realising it. I could only imagine it as all the characters in front of me: Daniel, Chloe, Ted, Janet, Amantha…
Sitting in a semi-circle and I hear their most intense dialogues (If I’m not mistaken, there is at least a scene in all episodes of Season 4 that has resulted me in reaching for the tissue box), and the emotion just washes over me.
I makes me wonder now…if…it would have the same effect to someone who has never seen an episode of Rectify. Will they be transported to someone else in their life who had shared something precious (maybe a desire to pursue making an album or send a note to someone who has made a difference in how they view life)?
After listening to the entire track…I’m convinced now that it was either re-recorded, or sampled. All the elements were there…it was just squeezed in…sped up in a way…that there’s an urgency. But not...in a way that would make it…sort of an Electro one (just like the one Mr Probz did… then was sped up by Robin Schulz)
