Film + Music + Lyrics

I am going to admit I was surprised how good (by that I mean 7/10) the film was.

So instead of telling you what I replaced. I will give you the time codes in the film where the songs have been played:

0:00:00 - Opening Montage of Anna - Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds – Satellite – (Same track as last scene)

50:00 - The garden bench scene – Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars - I imagine Anna humming this to Will as they sit on the bench:

“If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life”

50:55 – Cinema goggles reveal - Snow Patrol - 'Chasing Cars' - Continued for the montage.

57:04 - Will walking down the hotel hallway with the dirty dishes - Dermot Kennedy - Outnumbered

"Don't tell me this is all for nothing
I can only tell you one thing
On the nights you feel outnumbered
Baby, I'll be out there somewhere"

(I know not all the lyrics fits nicely with the scene)

Alternate: Track #9 from Maniac's score - Describe Your Emotional State

1:28:05 – Montage of 'Sad Will' - Gregory Porter - 'Consequence of Love'

“I will go
To the consequence of love
Whatever come what may
You see the gain for me is you
I will fight
For the right to be your love
No matter what they say
You see the gain for me is you”

1:50:15 – Max and the gang accompany Will to the hotel – Rudimental - Rumour Mill feat. Anne-Marie & Will Heard - Celebratory Fast Paced.

“Bad things be spreading round
No, no, let it go, just turn it down
Won't be a fool, won't be a clown
Can't tell me, won't tell me nothin' anyhow
Bad things be spreading round
No, no, let it go, just turn it down
Either way I'm coming round
Can't tell me, won't turn me down”

1:57:09 – Anna reconsiders her stay in London – Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds – Satellite - Same track as the opening. Cheesy Emotional. It has to work for a number of scenes (Wedding and Lazy Day) and connect to the one for the closing credits.

“Satellite in my eyes
Like a diamond in the sky
How I wonder
Satellite strung from the moon
And the world your balloon”

2:00:13 – Closing Credits – I was going to go with Dave Grohl's Everlong (Acoustic on Howard Stern – 2014) but there's nothing in the lyrics that works. It's more of a 'dark' cheesy...than uplifting.  Then 'Without Applause' from Horse Feathers...then was hit with a similar wall.

So...the decision? I'm going to wait for your reply as to what could be a good one. Yes. Too late now. You're brain is going to keep working until it comes back with an answer. :D

I wonder if it was the soundtrack itself that made it easier for me to not have this film quite high in my list.

(Continuing with the gif from this entry. It's my favourite siblings from Season 1 of Rectify)

Feeling the feels with you,
Leigh

PS: Look for the online link to this message
to see the gif! If it doesn't
show up, you can grab the link from the archive.

PPS: I've decided to do away looking for gif fillers
within the entry and just focus on finding photos
for each entry header (bye bye my bench photo!). The
photo for this entry
is courtesy of Carol VanHook.
I've selected that specific photo to represent a patch of Will and Anna's favourite garden (at least I'm hoping there were tulips there!). :)

PPPS: Because I have been asked if there is a playlist that has all
the discoveries from the project...I have obliged. If you spot a track that
doesn't have a corresponding entry...it may have yet to be scheduled.
I know! I should put together a YouTube Playlist too as a number of
live performances are quite different from the studio version.

PPPPS: If you prefer taking me with you, I have started a podcast
where I talk about the tracks in previous entries
. For the script, you can
find it here
