Singer + Telecaster
One of the questions I'm not crazy about is when I'm asked about my musical influences. I know it's just one way a listener could get an idea of how the sound of each track comes out that way.
Oddly, I'm more open to describing the kind of music I make: "Kind of like music that would be playing in the background when you were considering either a big change in your life or wanting to be more present in the moment. Whether you're in the wilderness building a fire while camping or staring out through the window sipping your tea." (source: I've combined comments from listeners to form this narrative)
So rather than citing influences. I'd rather go with the term: starting point. An example was when I was listening to Angelo De Augustine's 'If I Could Fly' and was reminded of the whole 'music influence' question and discussion. I do plan to use that track as a starting point: maybe 2-3 chords or a couple of notes...then build a whole new track from it.
How would you classify Angelo's music? Dreamy Guitar? Or maybe a throwback to Hazel English's track mentioned in a previous entry?
Okay...I'll follow the 'Dreamy Guitar' thread. But first...maybe...just to confirm what that sounds like...

Now I know the sound I'm looking for...what do the mixes say?
