 Fitness orientations are filling fast, but don't despair! We have a lot of them scheduled. Opportunities will come along steadily. Click HERE for the schedule. Email 

 The 2023 GVR Arts & Crafts Club Festival will include over 100 local artisans, drawings for prize baskets, and catered lunch availability. West Center, Friday, February 17, 9am-4pm AND Saturday, February 18, 9am-3 pm, FREE.

 Reminder: Pool lane sharing is required when the lanes are full. Swimmers with swimmers, walkers with walkers. Introductions are recommended before entering an occupied lane, but permission is NOT required for like users. Permission is only required if a swimmer wants to share a lane with a walker or a walker wants to share with a swimmer. Swimmers who are set on having a lane to themselves should plan to swim during off-peak hours (after noon). New signs are coming.

Clubs and Community

 GVR Saturday Night Dance Club hosts dances on the first and third Saturdays, October through April. "Dressy casual" - no shorts please. Open to the public. 6pm-9pm at Canoa Hills. Next dance: tomorrow, February 4. $10 for non-club members.

 The GVR Computer Club presents What’s New in Apple by Brad Brooks - MacOS X is history! Santa Rita Springs, Anza Room, Tuesday, February 7 at 1:30pm. Club monthly meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month, 1:30pm, and are open to all GVR members.

 The GVR Canine Club “Sharing Smiles and Joy.”  Learn how you and your dog can become a certified Therapy Team. Joyner-Green Valley Library, 601 N. La Canada Drive, Wednesday, February 8, 10am. RSVP to  Humans only please for this event.

 The GVR Table Tennis Club Open House All GVR members are invited to a new-player orientation and workshop: play games, learn about rules and equipment, and meet new people who like to have fun. West Center Auditorium, Saturday, February 11, 8am-Noon.

 The GVR Photography Club presents "Showtime". Desert Hills auditorium and ZOOM, Monday, February 6, 7pm. Click HERE for details and upcoming events.

Facilities Project Updates
GVR's facilities team is currently working on many projects. Please click HERE for a complete update on the status of those projects.

The Desert Hills Fitness project is progressing on schedule. Concrete was poured early Thursday morning and next is the actual build-out of the shell of the fitness room. The pool and spa are closed until February 8, at which time noisy framing work will begin and carry on until  February 17. The main stairway from the upper story is closed. Access the fitness room, locker rooms, and sauna via the (lower lot) southeast gate.
Reminder! There is a great little temporary snooker and billiards room at East Center in the art room.

In this class you will learn specific exercises to promote whole body bilateral correction and alignment, and establish functional strength and balance. We look to create a practice that will help and even eliminate body pains, stiffness, chronic pain from injuries, and postural issues. SUPPLIES: Bring yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks (soft, 4x6x8), and 1 yoga strap, NO jeans or belts please. Drop-in fee $28. This class was previously called the Super Stretch class.

 The GVR New England Club Enjoy a Mexican buffet dinner and performance by Amber Norgaard, West Center, Saturday, February 11, 5:15pm. GVR members $20 or $15 for just the performance at 7pm. Email Leo at for reservations no later than Monday, February 6. Non-club members can attend for $15.

 Friends In Deed is looking for volunteers.  They need personal, shuttle-van, and wheelchair drivers; front desk monitors; and equipment cleaners. They loan short-term durable medical equipment, provide blood pressure clinics, and provide rides to medical, legal, & dental appointments. All services are free of charge, open M-F, 9am-3pm: 301 W. Camino Casa Verde, Green Valley, AZ.
