 A portion of the Del Sol Clubhouse will open for drop-in billiards play on Wednesday, February 22. The space will be open from 6am-6pm seven days a week. There are three tables set up along with all the equipment. The restrooms are still under construction, so porta-potties and a hand-washing station are situated near the entrance to the building. Use your GVR card to activate the door.

 The 2023 GVR Arts & Crafts Club Festival includes over 100 local artisans, drawings for prize baskets, and catered lunch availability. Tomorrow is the last day: Saturday, February 18, 9am-3pm. FREE.

 The GVR Administrative Offices and Customer Service Desks will CLOSE on Monday, February 20, in observance of President's Day. All recreation centers will be open as usual, 5:30am-9pm.

Clubs and Community

 The GVR Santa Rita Art League invites all GVR members to Canoa Hills lobby, March 1, 5-7pm for the club's 2023 Members’ Annual Exhibit art show reception. There are two judged art categories: realistic and non-realistic. The Exhibit will be available to view the entire month of March. 

 The GVR Volleyball Club wallyball games are back. Las Campanas Raquetball Court, Tuesday & Thursday, 2-4pm. All GVR members are welcome.

 The GVR Amigas Club Coffee Time is the third Saturday of the month. The next coffee is at the Santa Rita Springs Anza Room, tomorrow Saturday, February 18, 9-10:30am (Correction). For more Amigas info click HERE.

February 22: Board Candidates "Meet & Greet" before (1:30pm) and after (4pm) the regular Board meeting--West Center Lobby.
February 23: Candidate forum: 10am-Noon, West Center. Donuts and coffee offered.

February 27: Candidate forum: 5-7pm, West Center. Wine and cheese offered.
March 1: Voting begins (Voter codes will arrive in the mail a few days prior, and again via email on this date)
March 23: Election ends and winners are announced

GVR clubs, individuals, the White Elephant, and GVRF board members raised almost $40,000 to help GVR members in financial need.

GVR clubs, individuals, the White Elephant, and GVR Foundation board members raised almost $40,000 to assist 91 GVR members pay their 2023 dues.

The GVR Foundation wishes to thank all the donors personally and will be hosting a 2022 Donor Appreciation event at Canoa Hills Center on March 8, 5-7pm. There will be light snacks, wine and soft drinks, a silent auction, plus a big thank you to donors. Did your club participate? They would love to see your officers there! Space is limited to 100 attendees, so please reserve your seat by emailing info@gvr-foundation.org.

Paper copies are available at all centers and in a distribution box at the Joyner-Green Valley Library.

Issues arrive in centers the first week of each month.
Facilities Project Updates
The Desert Hills Fitness project remains on schedule. The framing stage of the fitness room is continuing until at least February 17. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins will begin on February 16. 
GVR's facilities team is currently working on many projects. Please click HERE for a complete update on the status of those projects.
 

Santa Rita Springs' downstairs restrooms by the elevator are closed due to a plumbing problem.

Pilates Mat
Pilates mat-based exercises are based on the principles of breathing, concentration, focus, precision, centering and flow. Pilates will help you develop better body awareness, postural improvement, balance, flexibility, core strength and muscle tone. Instructor may introduce small accessory equipment. SUPPLIES: Bring a mat and small pillow or towel, if needed for head support. Serenity Pilates Instructors.

 GVR Saturday Night Dance Club hosts dances on the first and third Saturdays, October through April. "Dressy casual" - no shorts please. Open to the public. Next dance: tomorrow, Saturday, February 18. $10 for non-club members.  Canoa Hills, 6pm-9pm with a free dance lesson (Rumba) at 6pm with DJ music from 6:30 to 9:00.

 The GVR Forum Club has weekly presentations that are mind-expanding, informative, and challenging. $2 annual fee. Desert Hills Auditorium, 9-10am. For the full upcoming schedule, click HERE
