Fish Report 1/3/21
Scup? Really?
No Tog Trips Here (this time!)

Greetings All,
While keenly aware my tog clients are chewing at the bit to get on off here; on my last sea bass trip 5 days ago we caught scup to three pounds. Some fellows had double digits with 5/0 hooks..
Up until 1969 scup/porgy were a mainstay fishery here come spring into summer. I have never, in my 40 years, gone scup fishing from OC MD. I really want to try em.
We’re allowed 50 at 9 inches.
I’ll be thrilled if we get folks dinner and then some.
This is an Experimental trip. We could get skunked! I have No Idea how it’s going to go.
It’s a loooong paddle to get to em too. They’re northern fish moving south & offshore.
I do have chowder clams. We’ve a fighting chance!
Want to go try it?
You’ll throw back sea bass that’ll make you cry; but, hopefully, we’ll get a pull on some nice scup/porgies too.
Reservations required at 443-235-5577 - line’s open til 8pm & reopens at 8am.
We’ll depart at 6am (or a bit earlier) Tuesday 1/5/21 til whenever we get back for $150.00.. Trip sells out at 15 anglers..
Covid is No Joke! My girlfriend’s father just spent 30-some hours in a WV hospital hallway before a room opened up. (Looks like he’s going to make it too!) Masks 100% required in the heated salon - but not while fishing. You’ll be plenty spaced out at the rail on my boat.
Forecast is light NW coming W and low 40s for air temps.
Next report will have tog trips - Promise!
