Tomorrow—Tuesday, November 1st at 6:30pm over Zoom—UCF’s Future Technical Communicators club will proudly be hosting its Fall 2022 Mentoring Program Interest Meeting! This meeting’s goal is to promote STC Florida’s mentoring program, which is FTC’s most practical way of connecting its students and new professionals with those established in the technical communication field.
This meeting is free and open to everyone. Students of FTC, members of STC Florida, and especially all who would be interested in becoming a mentor or mentee this program year are invited to attend.
This meeting will feature a panel of past mentors and mentees who will share their experiences as mentors and mentees of the program, followed by a Q&A session. The panel includes:
Joe Ryan (mentor)
Amy Toole (mentee)
Lori Meyer (mentor)
Joana Donovan (mentee)
Bethany Aguad (mentor)
Julia Southwick (mentee)
Mentoring Program Information
Some of the many benefits of the STC-FTC Mentoring Program for mentees include learning specialized skills, networking with professionals, and gaining helpful career guidance and job tips. Mentors have the benefit of having an avenue to pass on their skills and guide new technical communicators on the path to a successful career. The program runs for the duration of the school year.
