This past fall, we sent out a community survey to our members. The results are in and we won’t be making many changes as the respondents show the community is generally happy with our values, mission, and vision statements. These changes will go live on our website soon!
Our values were:
Caring, education, excellence, teamwork, volunteerism, and inclusivity.
Our values rewitten:
Caring, education, excellence, teamwork, volunteerism, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Our vision was:
To develop and enhance the practice of technical communication in Florida by exploring and implementing emerging technologies while still stressing critical core skills—and, in the process, creating and sustaining a cohesive statewide technical communication community.
Our vision rewritten:
To develop and enhance the practice of technical communication in Florida and beyond by exploring and implementing emerging technologies while stressing critical core skills.
Our mission was:
To advance the statewide exchange and application of technical communication expertise through diverse channels, and to demonstrate the business value professional practitioners offer with their core skills and their mastery of emerging communication technologies.
Our mission rewritten:
Creating and sustaining a cohesive technical communication community that extends beyond Florida’s borders.
