Spring has (finally) sprung!

Happy May! That warm Spring weather is finally here which means  more activities coming up here at the Ollie. Here's a recap of all the fun we had in April and a look at what's up next:

Annual Event
We had a blast at our Annual Benefit and Auction, "The House is Where the Heart Is", on April 6th. We'd like to give a huge shout out to our event committee, SBNH staff and Board of Directors, volunteers, donors, and everyone at Seaport World Trade Center Boston who make this wonderful event possible. And a very special thank you to our beloved auctioneer, Tom Tinlin. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Ollie. The food, the music, the people, it was all fantastic and we can't wait to do it again next year! As a matter of fact...

Marathon Monsoon!

We couldn't be more proud of how our team of amazing runners finished the Marathon despite some of the worst weather conditions the race has ever seen. A huge part of that is thanks to YOU! All of you who donated to their fundraisers and supported them throughout their training without a doubt helped them finish that treacherous race.

So far Team Ollie has raised over $69,000 from all of your donations! We're so close to $70,000 but we need your help! We have 30 days to wrap up our fundraising and would love to show our hardworking runners a little extra appreciation. It would only take 100 $20 donations or 200 $10 to reach our goal, but really every little bit helps!

In Memory of Bart Blanchard

Bart Blanchard (Basil Barton Blanchard III) passed away on March 20, 2018. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 13, 1940. While he resided in Denver, Colorado since 2009, Bart was a proud New Englander since birth. Bart graduated from the Boston Latin School in 1958 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Columbia University (New York) in 1963.

Bart was involved in sports his whole life; playing football for Columbia University, as well as semi-professional football with the Boston Chippewas. He was a die-hard fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, and he loved coaching Pop Warner football in Connecticut.

Bart's family recalled him speaking fondly of the Ollie and the work we do here, so they decided that in lieu of flowers, they would like donations to be made to the South Boston Neighborhood House.

And a very special thank you to the
Blanchard Family!
