Update on SBNH During COVID19 Shutdown
SBNH continues to respond to this rapidly changing landscape. Although our buildings and regular programs are closed to participants for the foreseeable future, the Ollie family is nonetheless VERY BUSY adapting our outreach and services to support our families and seniors in new and much needed ways.
Through our "Ollie Calls" initiative, staff are checking in once/week with all participant families and seniors, providing a listening ear, self-care resources, deliveries of food, diapers & wipes, and gift cards for restaurant meal deliveries. For 2-weeks we have been receiving daily (M-F) lunches for seniors from Ethos which we organize and deliver to 225 seniors and starting next week they will include dinners.
Today will be our 3rd week distributing 'Friday Night Grab & Go' boxes of food and supplies to seniors and families to fill the weekend gap when City food distribution sites at BPS Schools are closed and Meals on Wheels are not being delivered to seniors. Family Engagement staff and the teachers are putting together weekly learning kits and books for each family to include in their 'Grab & Go' boxes. We are up to almost 170 deliveries this week.
We need your help now more than ever! There will be a significant financial impact as we continue to support our families through this crisis. To support our Ollie effort and help us get immediate relief to families and seniors, please click the link below.
