Thanks to AMN curator David Landis for bringing us a conversation with Karen Mason.

April was amazing with conversations and workshops from mentors Karen Mason and Lynn Kuo, and such a treat to explore the vocal music of Verdi with Ragnar Bohlin.

Dr. Lynn Kuo helped us all access our warrior spirit in music.

Hello Friends,
As the world opens back up, Amateur Music Network is moving toward in-person workshops - but with a difference! We have gotten a huge boost out of getting together online, and we don't want to give that up. But now that there are opportunities to start bringing people together, we are incorporating an ensemble element, and this month starts out with our very first hybrid workshop.
Maestro Ben Simon and members of the wonderful San Francisco Chamber Orchestra will be joining us next Saturday for a strings workshop focusing on the Praelude from Grieg's Holberg Suite. You'll play from home, but the ensemble will be together in the studio so you'll hear all the parts, live, in real time. Experience being part of the orchestra and get coaching, tips, and tricks from these wonderful mentors. I hope we see you there! We're eager to start this new series of hybrid workshops and hope we can do many more of them in the future.
The merry month of May also brings a clarinet master class with Jerry Simas, and Part Two of a series of guided jazz listening sessions with Lisa Mezzacappa. We continue our Singing Saturdays series with the wonderful chamber music of Brahms and Schubert. See below and visit the AMN workshops page for more information about AMN events.

As always, stay safe and healthy, and keep music-making in your life!
