Fire Starter Festival 2019
Building strongly on the success of previous years, the Fire Starter Festival is back with a bang from 28th January - 8th February 2019. This year the theme is Disruption by Design - how we create opportunities to break existing patterns, think imaginatively, work collaboratively and test out ideas through action.

The annual Fire Starter Festival is on for two weeks and offers a national platform to public services, including communities and charities, to highlight and celebrate innovation and creativity across Scottish public services. With a particular focus on transformational change, it is co-produced and provides a creative space for people to showcase, share and explore the ways they are making a difference to Scotland.

Why not get in on the action and take part in this year's Festival by hosting your own event?

Events hosted during the festival must be free to attend, accessible and open to all, and self organised.

To start the process, just email Ingage@gov.scot and let us know you'd like to participate, or complete and send back our Host Application Form.

Need funding to help host your event?

This year we're delighted to say that the Institute for Continuous Improvement is providing £5,000 to the Fire Starter Festival. This
is available for those who would like to host an event but don’t have access to organisational funds and would otherwise struggle to secure a venue.

A maximum of £200 per individual event is being provided on a first come first serve basis so if you need support find out more and apply now. Good luck!

Attend our Taster Session

As part of the run up to Fire Starter Festival 2019 we have been hosting taster sessions across Scotland so that people can learn more about the festival and how they can get involved.

Our tasters have brought together some really fantastic people and organisations from local communities, and have instigated conversations about the small fires of change we can start in 2019.

Our next taster is at 10:00 - 12:00 on 5th December in Inverness and we'd be delighted if you could join us.

Attend our Taster
Can't make it to one of our sessions? We are really happy to come along to speak to groups or organisations interested in participating in Fire Starter Festival - just email ingage@gov.scot.

You can also watch our quick 60 second introduction to the Festival, filmed with hosts, participants and speakers from previous events. Let them tell you what they see as the draw of Fire Starter Festival!
