With only 2 weeks to go until Fire Starter Festival 2019, here's everything you need to know.

Building on the success of previous years, our annual festival is back with a bang from 28th January - 8th February 2019.

Community Nurses as Catalysts for Change - Edinburgh - 29th January
This Fire Starter event will celebrate the accomplishments of the seven latest QNIS Catalyst for Change projects; from the creation of a Men’s Shed to a breastfeeding awareness & education initiative for children and young people.

Find Your Authentic Coaching Voice - Working with Structural Dynamics - A Theory of Face to Communication - Glasgow - 29th January 
Structural Dynamics is a powerful framework that helps leaders and coaches understand and optimise their communications. This session introduces you to Structural Dynamics, a theory of face to face communication, developed by Dr David Kantor of the Kantor Institute, Boston, MA. 

Practising change together - towards appreciative and collobarative evaultation - Edinburgh - 4th February 
This workshop develops the ideas and themes from the FSF2018 event “Reigniting Evaluation”. It contributes to discussions about the need to create cultures of embedded learning and evaluation, so that evidence about ‘what works’ really does get used.

Young People
Young People Co-designing - Oban 28th January / Dunoon 6th February 
This practical event will be centred around the ‘Young Scot’ Co-design approach.

Brainwash Proofing - Edinburgh 18th January
What if, at the heart of our education system was not creativity, innovation, entrepreneurialism, or even pupil-led learning, but instead a desire to prevent brainwashing in our learners?  

Kindness – The Human Aspect of Procurement - 
Edinburgh, 8th February
As part of the ongoing work of the Kindness in Procurement and Commissioning Group, members will be hosting  an interactive facilitated session on how we can achieve better social, economic and environmental impact through a kinder more human approach to procurement and commissioning.

Mental Health 
Mental Health & Wellbeing in the community - 
Aberdeenshire, 30th January
An event open to the public and health and social care partners to discuss   mental wellbeing and ways to support mental health and wellbeing  in Aberdeenshire.

There's still time to get in on the action and take part in this year's festival by sigining up to host your own event. 

To start the process, just email and let us know you'd like to participate, or complete and send back our Host Application Form.

Your event will then be added to our festival listings where it will reach diverse networks and ensure a rich sign up.
Events hosted during the festival must be free to attend, accessible and open to all, and self organised. You can also apply for event funding.

The annual Fire Starter Festival takes place for two weeks.

It offers a national platform to public services, including communities and charities, to highlight and celebrate innovation and creativity across Scottish public services. 

With a particular focus on transformational change, it is co-produced and provides a creative space for people to showcase, share and explore the ways they are making a difference to Scotland.
