Fire Starter Festival Newsletter

Warm greetings! This month, we are working hard behind the scenes on an integrated events calendar for the festival to be hosted on our website. We hope that you can upload your own event to this system so that there's no need to fill in an event application to us. More information about that soon.

In the meantime, please check out our newest blogpost reflecting upon FSF 2019 and looking ahead to FSF 2020, including revealing the theme for our launch and examples of events that were done last year.

The kindling - want to know more?

We have a number of information/ taster sessions arranged where you can find out more about the 2020 festival and how you can become involved:
We are also doing webinar info/taster sessions for people who cannot make the sessions above. They are about 30-45 minutes long. You can register for a webinar here:

You can view the recording of our first FSF Taster session webinar from last montht: (click on image below and scroll down on the page that opens.)
Host a Fire Starter Festival event

Workforce Scotland will host the launch plus a few other events during the Fire Starter Festival, but the festival is mainly a space for anyone working in different public services to create an event around issues or questions that are important to them. The festival is a great opportunity to get different perspectives than usual and get people across the board to attend.

You may want to host a bespoke event on a theme or topic that aligns to our theme for this year:
What kind of Scotland are we seeking to build?”

This year, the deadline to upload your event to the Events Calendar will be 13th December. More about how to do this soon.

If you’re interested in hosting events during FSF 2020 please check out our guide for hosting events and our festival resources.

If you would like some help thinking through how you and your organisation could get involved, please email
