This Is Your Time to Act - #Strikewithus
Dear CWP Partner,
On Friday, December 6, another round of national climate strikes will be occurring in 260 cities across the country. The national climate strikes come a week after a global day of action on November 29th and two months after the climate strikes that took place the week of September 20th and garnered support from over 7 million people worldwide.
As nations gather to discuss implementation strategies of the Paris Agreement at COP25 in Madrid, climate strikes are a way of demonstrating U.S. commitment to meeting the goals of Paris despite the official withdrawal of the U.S. from the Paris Agreement that began on November 4. While marginalized communities across the world, from Alaska to Bangladesh, are already experiencing the negative impacts of climate change, as people of faith, we recognize that it is part of our moral obligation to stand with the poor and work to protect the creation on which all of us depend on to live.
Live out your faith witness by joining a strike near you. Locations can be found by clicking on the pins that appear on the map or by typing in your ZIP Code or city. Love our neighbors near and far by attending a climate strike and demanding bold and transformative action to address the climate crisis.
