Financing a Solar Project for your Church Workshop

Using solar power is a great way to reduce your church’s carbon footprint while demonstrating your commitment to caring for creation.  But what’s the best way to finance a solar project?  This workshop will show you how you can finance that will help you “green” your congregations, while cutting the payback period on your investment.

When: Thursday, November 15 at 7 pm
Where: Oakdale Park CRC, 961 Temple St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507
Facebook Event

  • Pastor Emmett Harrison: Born in Mississippi, Pastor Emmett was raised in Chicago.  After nearly 30 years in ministry in Chicago, he became the lead pastor at Oakdale Park CRC.
  • Dr Rick Kruis: After retiring from a long career as an Emergency Room Doctor, Rick turned his focus to his other passion: Creation Care.  He managed a project that put solar panels on carports at his church (Bethany CRC) at no cost to the congregation.  Rick will join us via a live feed from his home in New Mexico.
  • Nate DeVries: Nate is also an ordained CRC minister. He served for 14 years in ministry in Iowa and Minnesota.  More recently, Nate became a solar broker and launched his own business: inReach Energy LLC

In addition to reviewing various financing models and see how Bethany did it in New Mexico, we will have several installers and financial folks at the workshop, who will answer your specific questions.
