Ask Congress to Protect Refugee Resettlement in Fiscal Year 2019
Every year the administration decides the cap on how many refugees can be admitted to the United States. The Trump administration is expected to make drastic cuts to the number of refugees that the United States plans to resettle during the upcoming 2019 fiscal year -- after already making drastic cuts in 2018. Now, only 25,000 refugees are being proposed for admission.
Scripture reminds us that when we welcome the stranger in our midst, we are welcoming Christ among us. As fellow image bearers, we both know that God commands us to care for our vulnerable neighbors and that refugees in turn will bless our communities.
Ask Congress today to protect refugee resettlement and ensure that at least 75,000 refugees are admitted to the United States in 2019.
