An update from our team at the COP23 climate change conference

“Being with thousands of people from all over the world, coming together from all walks of life to stand in solidarity about an issue that is affecting the entire world, is an awesome thing. You realize that you, as an individual, are one of many with the same passion, and that each of us are one small but crucial piece of the puzzle. Each of us has our own unique contribution to make to the bigger picture of defending vulnerable people and preserving God’s good world.” (Stephan Lutz, World Renew Kenya)

DO JUSTICE

Bill 62 and Our Fear of Change

by Gideon Strauss
“Bill 62 is most infamous for being a law that forbids people from covering their faces while using public services in Quebec….I wish for my niqab-fearing neighbours in Quebec to have an opportunity to really get to know some of our Muslim neighbours.” Read more »

REFUGEES — CANADA

Facebook Live call for refugee advocacy

Churches in Canada have been lining up to sponsor refugees, but systemic wait time issues have proved discouraging. Join a church refugee sponsor, two refugee policy experts, and a Christian Reformed justice communicator next Friday at 7-8 pm EST on the Christian Reformed Centre for Public Dialogue’s Facebook page to learn about these wait times and how you can advocate for a stronger refugee system in Canada.
