Ask Congress to Support Legislation to End Hunger
The Global Food Security Reauthorization Act was recently introduced in both the House and the Senate with strong bipartisan support. The bill is a reauthorization of the Global Food Security Act of 2016.
The Global Food Security Act (GFSA) has produced significant results in the work to end global hunger and poverty through strategies that empower communities to produce their own food and become resilient without outside assistance. GFSA upholds the importance of healthy nutrition for children and mothers and works alongside small-scale farmers on sustainable agricultural development. When food security and production increase for farmers and when mothers and children get food that is good for brain development and long-term health, the whole community benefits. Reauthorizing GFSA is crucial to ensuring development assistance continues to be distributed in ways that have proven to be effective and sustainable.
As the body of Christ, we recognize the responsibility and privilege of being good stewards in this world, and we remember Scripture’s numerous calls to empower people in poverty.
Ask your members of Congress to co-sponsor the Global Food Security Reauthorization Act!
