Tell Congress You Support Undocumented Youth!
Big news! The House and Senate have introduced bipartisan legislation that would maintain protections for the approximately 750,000 young undocumented recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA). The temporary relief program is at risk of being terminated under the incoming administration. If enacted, The BRIDGE Act would allow those who currently have DACA status and those eligible for the program to continue living and working in the United States with permission from the U.S. government.
Urge your Representative and Senators to cosponsor the BRIDGE Act to protect DACA recipients from deportation!
Since 2012 the DACA program has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of undocumented youth by freeing them to come out of the shadows and live up to their God-given potential. Suddenly terminating this program without replacement would be a grave injustice. DACA recipients are among our worship leaders, our kids’ teachers, our nurses, our journalists, and our mechanics. The termination of this program would have devastating impacts on our communities, the people we love, and our economy. It would make over 750,000 people suddenly unemployed and eligible for deportation.
While we continue to advocate to Congress to create more just and updated immigration laws, we cannot take steps back by repealing protections for DACA recipients.
Send a message to your Representative and Senators TODAY to demonstrate your support for undocumented youth and urge them to cosponsor the BRIDGE Act!
