Urge Congress to Support Temporary Protected Status (TPS)!
This week is the Temporary Protected Status National Week of Action—an effort to call on Congress to maintain support for particular immigrants living in the United States who cannot go home because of dangerous conditions. These individuals currently have Temporary Protected Status, but are at risk of losing it. Join the faith community in calling on Congress to support Temporary Protected Status!
The U.S. government created Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to offer refuge for immigrants from certain countries that face conflict, natural disasters, health epidemics, or other extraordinary situations. TPS protects approximately 354,000 people currently living in the United States, some of whom have been here for decades.
In the coming months, the Department of Homeland Security will decide whether to allow TPS-holders from Nicaragua, Honduras, and Haiti to stay or require them to leave the United States.. Our neighbors are at risk of being sent home to life-threatening conditions. Tell Congress that as a Christian you seek the safety and flourishing of your neighbors.
Ask your members of Congress for continued support of TPS!
