New Opportunities

We know that Indigenous reconciliation is a crucial part of doing justice ministry in Canada today. Many youth that we encounter especially want to know more about the Indigenous communities around them, and how to unlearn some of the stereotypes and misunderstandings that they may have towards them.

COVID-19 gave us some concern that the Youth Ambassador of Reconciliation (YARP) program would be cancelled.  But after much discernment and planning YARP will now be offered online.  This has resulted many new opportunities including more participant spaces and a dramatic reduction in cost.  We are so pleased to offer this important program this year.

Please consider applying or passing this on to a friend.

Prayer for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

May 5 was the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.  June 3rd marked the anniversary of the final report from the MMIWG commission.  Will you pray?  For action, for women, and for ongoing racism?  Here's a place to start.

TRC Anniversary

It's been five years since the release of the 94 Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.  What has happened in that time?  What needs to happen in the next five years?  Hear Shannon Perez and Mike Hogeterp discuss in these videos.

Do Justice Highlight

[Jesus's] mission brought an upside-down Kingdom that would be good news for the poor, oppressed and distressed. This Kingdom was not just a place to chill out in heaven, like a retirement portfolio after we die, but something that would come on earth as well and inside our churches.  Read Richard Silversmith's full blog here.
