Urge State Support for Refugee Resettlement

The Trump administration is preparing an executive order that would give states and localities the ability to deny refugees from being resettled in their communities. If put in place, this policy could prevent refugees who have already been approved for resettlement in the U.S. from being placed near immigrant communities that could help support their transition to the U.S.

As Christians we must remember the scriptural call to “love the stranger,” especially as the Trump administration also considers a near shutdown of the refugee resettlement program.

Urge your state and local elected officials to sign on to a letter by September 9 to oppose the Trump Administration’s plan to allow states and cities to deny entry to refugees and to support a return to the historic annual average of welcoming 95,000 refugees in 2020.
