Dear friends,
As we look back on another year, we feel proud of the work that we accomplished in 2021.
In the spirit of ringing in the New Year, we would like to share our key accomplishments in 2021:
We met, then exceeded, our goal of performing over 5,000 spay-neuter surgeries!
We processed 11,821 online applications and 4,625 voicemails assisting a total of 16,446 pet parents.
We were the recipient of many grants to provide more for pet owners!
-We received grants from:
• a silent donor to purchase a modular building to form the SNAP East Spay-Neuter Center.
• the ACES Foundation for clinics supplies for SNAP East.
• PetSmart Charities to support our Tribal-SNAP program in 2022 and 2023.
• Petco Love to provide free vaccinations to dogs and cats in our care.
• a variety of foundations and private donors to support SNAP programs like Maryann's Mission, Critical Communities, MIL-SNAP and Shanti's House.
We held monthly in person and online pet education workshops for students and distributed pet care materials. The San Diego Department of Animal Services cited that our pet education program “brings awareness to the devastating effects of pet overpopulation.”
In 2022, we plan to:
• Increase the number of clinics using the new and original Neuter Scooters.
• Participate in major community events when open to the public.
We would like to recognize:
• Our many partners and supporters who have helped us save more lives by reducing pet overpopulation: Bryco, Coronado Cares, Dogs on Deployment, Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary, Feral Cat Coalition, Native America Humane Society, Pet Assistance Foundation, San Diego Rescue Coalition, SDHS Voucher program, and animal-friendly City Council members and County Board of Supervisors.
• Our clinic host sites Escondido Valley Community Center, Emmanuel Faith Community Church, Fallbrook Fertilizer, Feed, & Farm Supply, Indian Health Council, Miramar Kitchen & Bath, Mira Mesa Library, Otay Mesa-Nestor Branch Library, Petco Oceanside, Petco El Cajon, SD House Rabbit Society, Valencia Park Library and the many tribal community centers.
• Our medical and support teams for their hard work in slowing the cycle of pet overpopulation.
• The advisory committee and board of directors for volunteering their time to advance our mission of saving lives by reducing pet overpopulation.
• The volunteers and donors large and small, for making this important work possible.
Best to you in 2022!
