Top 10 Threats to Childhood in Canada: October 6 - Register Now

The countdown is on to Raising Canada 2022!

On October 6 at 12 p.m. ET, Children First Canada (CFC) is pleased to host Raising Canada 2022: When Kids Thrive, Canada Thrives, an interactive digital event to highlight this year's top 10 threats to childhood in Canada and the findings of our Raising Canada 2022 report.

The kids are not alright.

From coast to coast to coast, many children do not make it to their 18th birthday: The infant mortality rate in Canada is higher than in most wealthy countries, and suicide is a leading cause of death for children and youth. These devastating statistics are too alarming to be ignored.

Our Raising Canada 2022 event will explore how investing in the health of children is critical to building a more equitable and prosperous society. Experts will discuss how the pandemic and the top 10 threats to childhood have had a disproportionate effect on equity-deserving young Canadians – and the urgent need for action.

We're excited to announce that two new speakers have joined our event:
The Hon. Karina Gould, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development
André Picard, Health Reporter and Columnist for The Globe and Mail

Register now to join the conversation!

Date: Thursday, October 6
Time: 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. ET
Register Here: Raising Canada 2022

Our interactive digital event will include:
  • A deeper look at this year's top 10 threats to childhood in Canada
  • The latest data on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on kids
  • A panel discussion with leading child health experts, thought leaders and youth
  • An economic analysis on the social returns of investing in kids  and the high costs of inaction
Together, we can make Canada the best place in the world for kids to grow up!©
