CHILDREN FIRST CANADA | LES ENFANTS D'ABORD CANADA

When kids thrive, Canadians thrive.

Children and youth are Canada's most valuable natural resource. There is overwhelming evidence that investing in young people can yield great economic returns, benefiting all Canadians. Yet one-third do not enjoy a safe and healthy childhood, one in five lives in poverty, and suicide remains a leading cause of death for children aged 10 to 14.

Over the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has made things much worse for children
exacerbating the top 10 threats to childhood in Canada.

The kids are not alright.

On June 7 at 12 p.m. ET, Children First Canada (CFC) is pleased to host a special high-level event to catalyze investments in children and youth in collaboration with the Coalition for a Better Future. The event aims to mobilize public and private sector resources to reverse the damaging impacts of the pandemic on kids.

Date: Tuesday, June 7
Time: 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. ET

Did you know?

Canada is one of the most prosperous and advanced nations in the world. But when it comes to the well-being of children, we have reason to be concerned. Over the past decade, Canada has fallen sharply from 10th to 30th place among OECD countries for the well-being of children. Learn more in our Raising Canada 2021 report.
