Register now for one or both webinars discussing the interactive Community Maltreatment Risk Maps, which are part of  the Community Toolkit just launched by the Prevention and Early Intervention division (PEI) of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

The Community Maltreatment Risk Maps provide both ZIP code and county-level data on risk and resilience factors related to child maltreatment in Texas, as well as detailed, accessible descriptions of the metrics used to assess risk in different age groups.

The first session will be held on October 13, 2021 at noon. It will discuss the 2019 Texas Maltreatment Risk Maps including:

  • What the risk scores mean for your community.
  • Understanding the metrics in the maps.
  • How to use the risk scores in your planning.
We will show basic navigation of the website in this session. Register for the first session.

The second session will be held on November 10, 2021 at 11 am. It will take a deeper dive into the technical aspect of the data. We will also explain how to find the original data used in the maps so communities can track their own data over time. Register for the Second Session
