Did you know that Stevens is slated to LOSE TWO TEACHERS next year due to low enrollment?
Did you know that Stevens is currently considered UNDER ENROLLED?
Most importantly, did you know that there are 24 students on a waitlist wanting to join our community and the DISTRICT IS NOT ALLOWING THEM TO ENROLL?
This is unacceptable!
We're asking you to join with members of the Stevens Community at the Seattle Public School administrative offices on May 3rd, 3:45pm to make our voices heard when the SPS Board meets. CHILDREN WELCOME!
Although students on the waitlist live outside the current Stevens boundary, many are siblings to existing Stevens students, or are current or former families wishing to return.
We demand that SPS allows all students currently on this waitlist to enroll at Stevens Elementary, where we value inclusivity.
Carpool to and from the event. We'll depart Stevens at 3:15 pm.

Public comments can be made from 5:30 to 6:30pm at Wednesday's SPS board meeting. In order to testify before the board, you must reserve a speaking spot ahead of time by emailing the School Board Office or calling (206) 252-0040, beginning TOMORROW, May 1 at 8am. The public testimony list will be posted Tuesday, May 2nd.
This effects our WHOLE COMMUNITY. Let's stand together with students, teachers, and families!
