The vision of HaGefen Publishing is “to see the body of Messiah in Israel grow into spiritual maturity.” HaGefen is grateful to be used by God to change lives through their books and also their witness.
Exciting things are happening in Israel and here David Zadok shares just a few stories:
“Liat is a widow with three children. For some time now we have had opportunities to share the gospel with her. At a recent family gathering, as I spoke about my trip to New Zealand and Australia, she asked me what I was going to do there. And of course that was a great opening to talk about Christians who love Israel because they love the God of Israel and the Messiah of Israel. "Who is the Messiah?" she asked. You can imagine the rest of the conversation. Though the dialogue was not long, it was significant as I felt that another barrier was broken down. Liat comes from a Jewish traditional home, and yet she is open to hear about the Messiah. Please pray for her salvation.”
“Matan is a young Jewish believer who lives in Israel. He is a young, but a gifted Israeli like many of the new Millennial believers who have been converted. He is now involved with supporting Jewish believers in their military service. A month ago we met in my office and among other things, spoke about how we could be of help to the soldiers, deepening their understanding of Scripture and growing in their faith. One of the things he mentioned was how he had been blessed by HaGefen's books. He told me that for years he has had the books in his home library, but never took them off the shelf. A few months ago he started to devour the books, one at a time. He mentioned how the Lord used them to help him understand better various issues. One of the books that really touched him was Jewish Identity in Christ. After the meeting we decided to provide complimentary books for all the national soldiers' conferences that he and others organize throughout the year.”
“Some time ago one of the Jewish believers in the land participated in one of the song contests on national television. On the show he mentioned clearly that he was a believer from a believing family. That statement had impact on people, which I experienced myself. Two weeks after the show I was walking in our town with our daughter, who is serving in the military. During our walk, the mother of one of my daughter's friends came across the street to greet us. As we talked, she mentioned the show and asked, "Was he one of you?" After responding in the affirmative, she told me that because she is from Morocco, she really liked to hear my testimony of how an Iraqi Jew came to believe in Jesus. She said she would like to come to my home for a cup of coffee and hear the full version! Please pray that soon we will have an opportunity to meet again so I can share my testimony and the gospel with her.”
Please pray that David would have opportunity to follow-up with Liat and Vered. And pray for many more like Matan who will be blessed by the books HaGefen translates and publishes.
As always, CMI thanks you for your prayers and your financial support. By supporting the ministries at HaGefen Publishing and Grace & Truth Congregation, you help the body of Messiah in Israel grow into spiritual maturity.
