We started the season being inspired by three amazing members: Heather Doughty, Tracey Ormond, and Monika Carmichael!
What a great way to start the new WBN season!
Because you, our members, have said that you want to hear more from other members, we were delighted to invite our President and Member of the year, Tracey Ormond, to speak, along with two other inspirational members, Heather Doughty and Monika Carmichael. We are so thankful for these three women and their willingness to share with us! I know we all felt a greater connection to them after hearing their stories.

We were also pleased to learn that Grace Reynolds is our new Vice President! Not only will she serve alongside Tracey Ormond and the board in this new role, she will also be our President for the 2019/2020 season. Congratulations Grace!
September Spotlight
Camp Kawartha
Wednesday September 19, 2018 - Camp Kawartha Environment Centre
Location: 2505 Pioneer Road, Peterborough

Time: 5:00pm - 7:00 pm   Host: Karen Copson

Looking for an inspirational venue to host your next business meeting, workshop or special event? Did you know that Camp Kawartha has two facilities available to rent from September to June – our overnight facility north of Lakefield, and our day-use facility in Peterborough near Trent University. Join us for our spotlight at the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre in Peterborough while you learn about the building's innovative sustainable features, explore our outdoor amphitheatre and pavilion, play in our outdoor playscapes area, take part in a scavenger hunt (there will be prizes!), and enjoy some delicious refreshments. Dress comfortably and casually as some activities will be outdoors, weather permitting. Learn more about what Camp Kawartha has to offer, and how proceeds from our facility rentals help support our outdoor and environmental programming for children and youth.

The Camp Kawartha Environment Centre is our day-use facility, located just minutes from downtown Peterborough, on Pioneer Road, just east of the Peterborough Rowing Club and opposite Gzowoski college. There’s ample free parking in our parking lot, although we encourage carpooling for the sake of the environment.

Please let us know by end of day Thursday, September 20th if you plan to attend, and WHICH session you plan to attend so that we can prepare refreshments. Just email Diane or Colleen to tell us which session you are planning to attend. We look forward to seeing you!

And just in case you missed the information last month, here is the basic info about the program:

Are you feeling a bit stale or overwhelmed in your business? Stuck trying to take your business to the next level? Have no fear: Help is on the way!

Your WBN Board of Directors is delighted to present to you our brand-new business mentoring program!

If you could benefit from the wisdom and expertise of a successful member, we can match you with someone who can help you overcome hurdles and move forward.

If you are an experienced business person who would like to give back to your WBN community and perhaps even experience renewed energy and enthusiasm for your own business, we are looking for you!

We will also provide training for mentors! Who are we? We are Colleen and Diane, two board members and corporate trainers with more than 50 years of experience between us! (We stopped counting at 50, so don’t ask).

Enrolment will be limited by numbers of potential mentors and mentees who come forward, so we cannot guarantee that everyone who applies will be matched, but we will do our best.

We hope you will consider being part of this incredible benefit for WBN members!

Sincerely,
Colleen and Diane
