Highlights from May's Meeting
with Shannon Lee Simmons

Shannon shared her philosophy of what it means to Work like a Boss and kept us thoroughly entertained in the process. It's quite a feat to make the world of finance funny, but she seems to be part financial planner and part stand-up comic. A great evening!
Member of the Year:
Arlene Blunck of All Office Machines
Congratulations to our WBN Member of the Year: Arlene Blunck!
Pictured here with Maureen Tavener, who spearheads the Member of the Year Program. Arlene is our Membership Director, and works tirelessly to ensure that members feel welcome, especially new ones. We are so proud of Arlene! This is a well-deserved honour!
Anne Driscoll would like to give a shout out to Laurie English of Corus Peterborough, who was the winner of the 50/50 draw at May's member meeting, but donated the money back to the MS Walk Peterborough!
Thank you Laurie!

Jeannine Taylor, publisher of kawarthaNOW.com is pleased to announce that the kawarthaNOW.com digital section is continuing for 2019/2020. Jeannine developed the idea and concept of the digital section in 2017 to promote the WBN and female entrepreneurship.  "As we head into our third year we're planning now for 2019/2020 to expand content and audience reach more than ever before. The WBN and members will benefit with increased profile, market coverage and visibility - benefits to all of our businesses" says Jeannine. "All returning WBN members have first options on digital profiles including perks, early bird discounts and promotional options. Everyone has a story and our writers love their work on this section."

The kawarthaNOW.com digital section launches in early September and runs to June 30. This year, the section has received over 410,000 unique readers so far. The digital profiles of WBN members received, on average, over 108,000 unique web readers, over 5,200 Facebook viewer impressions on promoted posts, and over 11,400 viewer impressions on Twitter and Instagram combined. To read this year's member profiles (and some truly amazing member stories!) visit https://kawarthanow.com/category/womens-business-network-peterborough-2018-19/wbn-member-profiles/

From Pamela Van Nest of PVN Coaching
By knowing and understanding ourselves better, we understand others. Then as we understand others we know ourselves better! How can these opposites both be true. A Paradox.

If you would like to join us May 18th at 9 am at Activity Haven Center, I am leading a workshop on. Loving the Paradox of You.
It's an interactive workshop that is serious and fun at the same time (another paradox). We will define our “Oxymoron” and how it helps us face challenges and solve problems. This workshop is the first part of a 2 part series. The second series will be June 2nd.
BN member registration is discounted at $50.
