RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY CENTRE IS OPENING

The handover to Friends of Riverside is at noon on 8th Feb. It's been quite a journey to get to this point, but we are so excited to let people know that this excellent community space can now be used!

So straight in, we have arranged some open or drop-in sessions for the public to come along and see the building and find out what is happening here. These are on the calendar (below) from Wednesday 8th February to Saturday 18th February.

We hope as many people as possible come along to see this new exciting venue for the Malmesbury Community Area. FREE REFRESHMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.

During these first days there are some other classes and activities which will be taking place as well as the open and drop-in sessions advertised. These 'regular' (non open drop-in) sessions, between Weds 8th February and Sat 18th February and of course afterwards, are arranged by the group or instructor concerned and you will need to contact them directly. Details of 'regulars' can be found on our facebook and our website www.riversidecommunitycentre.org.uk

Also in the newsletter will be details of two really great FREE EVENTS that Friends of Riverside are organising on the 17th and 18th February. The first is for older people and those with dementia and their companions and carers are very welcome to come along. This event includes activities, free refreshments, including a light lunch. The second event is for young people, on Saturday 18th February. This is an informal event, free entry with some creative workshops to enjoy and free food and drink, then from around 7pm there will be a band night, featuring three local bands. Read more here and please feel free to spread the word about these events!

Lastly, we must say a huge thank you to Wiltshire Council who have made all of this possible for us and provided such a fab venue for our local community.  We would also like to say a special thank you to Ollie Phipps, our local Wiltshire Council Community Engagement Officer, who has given us and the project such staunch support over the last couple of years.  We couldn't have done it without you Ollie!

Exciting times and we look forward to seeing you at Riverside!

Who's At Riverside?

We are delighted by the many clubs and classes who will be starting their regular sessions at Riverside and you can read about some of them here (see below). Sadly the Riverside Kids Club will not be running, but there are some new additions since our last newsletter. Details are updated on our website.

Most bookings are for clubs, groups or activities, so just to remind you that if you want sign up for any of these, then you need to directly contact the people who are running them and not Friends of Riverside. Any events run or hosted by ourselves are clearly marked as such!

New photos and video coming soon of the building interior as we are keen to show everyone the end result of the refurbishment, especially the smaller rooms which are charged at a very reasonable price.
